José Enrique was born in Madrid, Spain. He has a wide professional experience in the technology management field, both in private enterprises and in public administrations.
He joined the Boeing Company in March 2004 as Engineering and Programs Director of the Boeing Research and Technology Europe (BR&T-E). From April 2013 is the Managing Director of BR&T-E.
The BR&T-E mission is to extend the Boeing Enterprise into the European research and development system, accessing its premier technologies and scientists. It is the European Hub for Boeing Research & Technology in Europe. It focuses on Air Traffic Management, Safety, Security, Fuel Cells and Environmentally Progressive Materials technologies.
Before he joined Boeing Research and Technology Europe, he was Managing Director of the General Foundation of the UNED (Spanish National University for Distance Education) and Associate Professor of the Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid. Before, he was Deputy-Director General of CDTI – Center for the Industrial Technology Development –, a government agency belonging to the Spanish Ministry of the Economics and Competitivity whose mission is the promotion of research and technological development in the Spanish industry. José Enrique was responsible of all the activities of technological co-operation carried out by CDTI in the international realm, including the European Union. Before, he worked in several companies in the aerospace sector.
José Enrique holds a Master Degree in Engineering by the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales of Seville (Spain) and post-graduate diploma in Management and Business Administration by ODE-Organización y Desarrollo Empresarial (Madrid).
